Lucius “Shackles” Ironsoul
Lucius Ironsoul, the spectral figure bound in unbreakable chains, joined the eclectic assembly of spirits of Alouette Cemetery 2023. Lucius was a blacksmith in the early days of Port Haney, now Maple Ridge, and was renowned for his skill in crafting intricate ironworks.
Lucius’s craftsmanship was unparalleled, and he was commissioned to create a set of unique shackles for a mysterious traveller who had arrived in town. The traveller had whispered tales of a curse and the need for the strongest restraints, but Lucius was undeterred by the peculiar request.
When the shackles were completed, the traveller, revealed to be the Guardian of Shadows, placed them upon Lucius himself, binding him to a lamppost in the cemetery. The chains, imbued with the guardian’s magic, proved unbreakable, and Lucius was forever condemned to serve as a sombre reminder of the consequences of one’s actions.
In life, Lucius was known for his unwavering dedication to his craft, often crafting works of art that told their own stories. In death, he continued this tradition, and the elaborate engravings on the shackles that imprisoned him told the tales of those who had come to rest in Alouette Cemetery.
Visitors who pass by Lucius “Shackles” Ironsoul cannot help but feel a sense of reflection and introspection. His chains are a visual reminder of the choices one makes in life, a haunting portrayal of the consequences that can follow.
