The Harvest Howlers
Three enchanted pumpkins possess a mischievous spirit on the south lawns of Alouette Cemetery. Although they don’t have individual names, they have become collectively known as “The Harvest Howlers.”
Legend has it that these mystical pumpkins absorbed the energy from the Alouette River, giving them an otherworldly aura. However, in reality, they might just be pumpkins, and the true source of their power may come from the spirits buried in the sarcophagus on which they sit.
No one knows for certain, but it is suspected to be a combination of things. These particular pumpkins were picked from a farm on the outskirts of Maple Ridge. The farm was famous for its magical pumpkin crops, particularly their vibrant colour and mystic properties. And the sarcophagus is rumoured to hold the remains of three best friends whose lives were tragically lost in their youth.
One fateful night, as the Guardian of Shadows laid the groundwork for Alouette Cemetery’s awakening, the pumpkins were carved with enchanting symbols and faces by Shadowguard Seraphina herself. The pumpkins were imbued with the playful and mischievous spirits of the three best friends and tasked with entertaining and intriguing visitors to these hallowed grounds.
The Harvest Howlers now rest in the cemetery, perched on their sarcophagus, sharing eerie songs, telling jokes, and whispering spooky tales to all who visit. Their laughter and spirited jests add an element of whimsy to the sombre atmosphere of Alouette Cemetery, ensuring that visitors leave with a sense of enchantment and mystery.
Their presence is a reminder of the magical qualities of nature and the beauty that can be found even in the most unexpected places. The Harvest Howlers challenge those who encounter them to embrace the enchantment in everyday life and find joy in the unlikeliest circumstances.
